A family business since the beginningOur story
Hans Bernstein founded the company "BERNSTEIN Spezialfabrik für Schaltkontakte" in 1947 at the foot of the Kaiser Wilhelm monument in Porta Westfalica. Today, the East-Westphalian BERNSTEIN AG employs more than 600 people in 10 countries and, as an internationally active family business, is already managed in the 3rd generation by Nicole and Achim Bernstein, the grandchildren of the founder.

We now manufacture our products at four locations worldwide. Two of them are in Germany and one each in Hungary and China.

BERNSTEIN AG has always been a family business. Today, 75 years after the company was founded, it is managed by the 3rd generation.

Our company has had a certified quality management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 since 1996. In 2016, our environmental management system was also certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001.

International locations
We manufacture our products for you at 4 production sites worldwide. Our sales network now consists of a total of 8 subsidiaries and 34 distributors around the world who represent the BERNSTEIN brand.
This enables us not only to guarantee short delivery routes, but also to be there for our customers locally.
