A family business since the beginningOur story

Hans Bernstein founded the company "BERNSTEIN Spezialfabrik für Schaltkontakte" in 1947 at the foot of the Kaiser Wilhelm monument in Porta Westfalica. Today, the East-Westphalian BERNSTEIN AG employs more than 600 people in 10 countries and, as an internationally active family business, is already managed in the 3rd generation by Nicole and Achim Bernstein, the grandchildren of the founder.

We now manufacture our products at four locations worldwide. Two of them are in Germany and one each in Hungary and China.

Family-owned company

BERNSTEIN AG has always been a family business. Today, 75 years after the company was founded, it is managed by the 3rd generation.

Our large selection of switches and sensors allows almost any application. The range extends from insulated or metal-enclosed limit switches to foot switches and safety switchgear.

With our system solutions such as the SMART Safety System, we also offer you scalable solutions for safeguarding complete machines and plants.

Enclosure technology

We create space for your visions. Our PROTECT team implements superior enclosure technology for the encapsulation of diverse applications with modern and variable support systems..

A wide range of terminal boxes made of aluminium and plastic, as well as the wiring and circuitry of standard and control enclosures according to customer specifications complete the product portfolio.
