Porta Westfalica, 28 November 2024 – In face of the current difficult market and business developments with strong competitive pressure, inflation and interest rates, the board of BERNSTEIN AG has decided, after a thorough examination of the situation, to fundamentally restructure the business processes.
In order to position itself for the future, BERNSTEIN AG has launched a comprehensive package of measures. As the management board recently announced to the employees, this is intended to strengthen BERNSTEIN's competitiveness in the region, in Germany and worldwide. As part of this package of measures, there will be a reduction in the number of jobs, subject to the co-determination rights of the works council being upheld. The necessary reduction of just over 120 jobs will lead to a reduction in production, sales and administration staff at locations in Germany and abroad. This includes employees who leave due to normal fluctuation or other reasons, e.g. retirement or temporary employment. The information phase with the works council has already begun. The planned changes in the above-mentioned areas and the reduction in personnel capacities are intended to improve the competitiveness of BERNSTEIN AG in the long term. Above all, this should shorten delivery times for BERNSTEIN products and provide customers with better support.
