Designing ergonomic workstations

Rigid control elements and uniform workplaces, which demand forced and unnatural work postures, are a relic of past times in industry – thanks to modern health and safety laws. As a result, ergonomic workstations are playing an increasingly important role in companies.

Ergonomics not only maintains the health of employees, but also implies optimum performance.

It therefore has a direct impact on a company's profitability, as productivity can be increased, the error rate minimized and absences due to illness reduced.

Ergonomics in a few simple steps

Our products help companies to make their operator stations ergonomically comfortable so that they can be flexibly and quickly adapted to the requirements and physical conditions of different employees in just a few simple steps.

Turning, hanging, standing, sliding, tilting, rolling, height adjustment – BERNSTEIN's solutions for ergonomically adaptable workstations offer many options and make even the almost impossible possible in individual customer applications.

One system is particularly convincing in supporting regular changes of posture during VDU work: the ergo.slide from BERNSTEIN offers simple and uncomplicated height adjustment of individual components of a workstation, e.g. for quickly adjusting the keyboard height.

Ergonomic dimensions based on DIN 33402-2

The operator of a machine should be able to adapt the working environment to his individual body dimensions, physical strength and requirements.

BERNSTEIN AG therefore pays particular attention to ergonomics in accordance with DIN ISO 33402-2 when developing new products, in addition to the flawless functionality of its solutions

ergo.slideErgonomic quick adjustment of individual components

Spontaneous and intuitive - with the ergo.slide height adjustment system, changing working posture becomes a natural part of everyday working life.

The simpler, quicker and more convenient an adjustment is, the more frequently it will be used. The ergo.slide meets all the requirements for independent height adjustment of individual components of a workstation.

For example, to different postures, in fractions of a second, not according to a table and digital display, but according to body feeling, height and subjective requirements.

flex.baseOptionally fixed or mobile stand for operating stations

The flex.base offers a stand solution for operator stations that can be moved and positioned flexibly, maneuverably and yet stably in production. Optionally equipped with four lockable castors, the base ensures mobility as well as optional static positioning of all BERNSTEIN support arm systems.

This ergonomically designed, convertible and high-quality operator station component is a helpful solution for optimizing mobility and flexibility in the field of production technology.

The flex.base offers internal cable routing and optimum wiring space in the base. Integrated earthing is part of the base.

CS-480 B.flexErgonomic connection of control enclosures or IPCs

We call our CS-480 B.flex the "smallest independent support system at BERNSTEIN". In fact, the 48 mm round tube for connecting control enclosures or encapsulated IPCs to machines and systems is not very large.

Connections for control enclosures or IPCs mounted on ceilings, walls or the floor are often easier and more ergonomic to position if the user can rotate them as required. The CS-480 B.flex coupling is ideal for meeting this challenge.

It can also be used as a fixed or rotatable stand. However, it can also be used as a wall joint, swivel bracket or panel coupling, for example. The options can also be combined with each other, resulting in further, almost unlimited options for ergonomically designing specific customer applications. Each one also includes earthing.

The CS-480 B.flex enables the BERNSTEIN CS-3000 and CS-3000 neXt support systems to be adapted.
